  • Yo! A few quick announcements....

    1. Amy (wild4surfing) We texted each the other day and am glad to hear that she's doing FINE. No major damages! She said there's trees falling down near her home. Praise be Jesus that it didnt crash in her house!  As right now, she has no power. She will be back whenever the electricty is back on. She said it may take weeks. Yikes!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    2. For such a long time, I was never a magazine-reader. For years, I hadnt spend a buck for any kind of magazines especially those celebrity magazines. I dunno why I am never fond of that kind of a sort. It is all celebs on every page. In my opinion, it contains nothing relevant. However, I understand that I got to respect the views and opinions of others. It is OK with me if many may find celeb magazine very appealing. I ve seen some many want to be entertained and want to live the lives of the people on the screen. It doesnt happen with me and isnt my cup of tea. =)

Anyway, now this time, I have really good news: I ve found that my kind of magazine does exist!

I now am a fan of this magazine, here!

    kellyripafirstcover

My mom ordered subscription from FIRST every month. She saved her subscriptions since last March or something. I read every of it during time of Gustav. I had nothing to do at that time, so I started reading nonstop. I was surprised to find that it all seemed containing so many worthy topics I would enjoy reading. I even learned a lot from it. What's so great about this magazine, it even keeps celebrities in a minimum level. Other than that, the rest of the pages are devoted entirely to healthy issues, superfood, powerful fruits, herbal tea, delish recipes, and a massive chunk stuff I d enjoy reading. Although, there are some certain topics I am not interested in, but its all in a minium level so far...

    Here's a few from FIRST---

Since I am a big tea-drinker, I find this advice very appealing.

Sip this to feel less stressed!

You' re so busy that your to-do list has a to-do list and you cant seem to check off anything! To the rescue: BLACK TEA!

    z159975293

Savor a cup while you plot your next course of action. When overwhelemed study participants at the University College London drank black tea, their levels of the stress hormone cortisol dropped by 47 percent in under an hour. The recommended amount of sevearl cups daily may be all you need to short-circuilt stress and get it all done!

    AND.......

How I love chandelier earrings! A great tip about sometimes a heavy chandelier earring can make my earlobes sag....... I loveeeee chandelier earrings and is definitely a piece of information!

Problem: Danglihg earrrings definitely dress up an outfit and make my face look slimmer, but they also make my earlobes look like they are being stretched. I m nervous that I will eventually end up with permanent earlobe droop!......................

Answer: ...............there is a product out there that will solve your droppy-ear dilemma: EARLIFT ($10 dollars for 60 disco) at EarLift.com

Aint it cool?! It also includes low prices all the time. Ten dollars? This is something I can spend!

I am already drooling over delish recipes especially those fresh-fruit topping tart pies. I am going to master in that area, really! So-easy recipe! This magazine has many unbelivably things I will enjoy doing so.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    3. Cinnamon

I texted Cher today cause I wanted to know Cinnamon's history better. I copied n pasted her reply here... Go check here about Cinnamon's past.

...........I'm so glad to hear she is doing so good!!!! She just turned a year on Sept 9th. She is pretty much potty trained she used to go in the back yard, but we did take her on a leash at times also. She loves kids I think cause maybe there more her size lol. She also loved my other dog spot. My husband tried with her, but he works a lot so she was more with me and my 2 girls they are 4 and 6. The only man that she liked was my father in law. She was really good with him. I drove to Franklin, LA to get her. When I got there I called the man so I could find his house. He would not let me go there. He insisted on meeting me some where else. He had her in the back of a truck. I picked her up and she was so skinny and so sad looking, I put her on the ground to see just how big she was and the man told me that she had never touch the ground before. So I knew he had kept her in a cage. Now I believe that the man was a just some horrible puppy breeder and I feel he may have been mean to her and that's why she doesn't like men and is so nervous. But I paid him for her and took her home I couldn't leave her with him. She got better with us over time. But she needs a lot of attention and with my 2 girls and and I have a lot going on right now I just felt like some one could do better for her. She's so sweet and loving..........

Im glad to have Cinnamon safe in my sweet home. =) I am relieved to find that she's so playful now. It shows that she's getting somewhere.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

  • EDIT EDIT IN PINK

    Cinnamon!

    cinnamon

As you know, I am a proud owner of a dachshund dog now! Ruslan wanted to call her Bobo. Claudia liked Cutie. I felt it is a harvest gift from God since it is the season of autumn. I thought since that sausage dog is really as brown as cinnamon. Cinnamon has a big role in autumn spices. Markets are selling cinnamon apple candles during Fall time. PLUS- That dog can be misunderstand as a cinnamon stick, ROFL!

So, they just fell in love with the name Cinnamon!

So, Cinnamon has been a blessing to our family! She definiely is a children-friendly dog. Even though she is a scared dog right now since everything's new to her-- new faces, new house, and new enviroment, but she found safety in the arms of my chidlren rather than adults!

Cinnamon follows every step where kids go. Whenever Valerie goes outside swinging, Cinnamon is right next to her. That is SO fine with me. Ruslan and I got to give Cinnamon more time to be used with us. Claudia had fever last past two days, and Cinnamon was the only member in the house sitting with her all day. Cinnamon is really as sweet as cinnamon! =)

Here is an article that is devoted to Cinnamon.

     A Dog's Purpose

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker 's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.
The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.'
Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.
He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The Six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'
    Live simply.
    Love generously.
    Care deeply.
    Speak kindly.
Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.
    Take naps.
    Stretch before rising.
    Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
    Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

I forgot to include the most important thing-- how did I get Cinnamon for free?!?! Yes, there is a very NICE program named freecycle. You should apply there as it is FREE. Go to Yahoo and click GROUPS. Type FREECYCLE. Pick your city and JOIN there. This progam is devoted to "someone else's trash has became your treasure" that kind of thing, you know? They are giving away thier junkies. I got this large enterainment center for free before.

Anyway, Barbie spotted that a lady named Cher is giving away Cinnamon from FREECYCLE and she texted me immidately. I replied to Cher that I d love to have that dog. Cher said she had to interview people and wanted to make sure that Cinnamon will be in a right home. I replied with a sweet explaintion how we love dogs. We have a house. FOur bedroom and Cinnamon ll have plenty space to play around. We also have a chichaua named Jax. But the other couple won because they were merely FIRST before me. I was second on the list. Cher GAVE Cinnamon to the couple. The couple took Cinnamon to Laplace. I lost the dog bid.

A week later, the same lady Cher paged me to see if I would love to have Cinnamon. The couple said Cinnamon couldnt stop barking at men. I told Cher what Cinnamon needed is just a  little discipline. It is just a few days?! Cher was surprised that the couple couldnt handle Cinnamon and told me that the couple seemed very old to have that dog. The old folks probably needed a quiet old dog. I said SURE!!! I had to go to LAPLACE to that old folks' house to get Cinnamon. Kids and I droveeeee to her house and picked up Cinnamon.

    Thats how!

  • Yo!

I cleaned a lot around here (xanga). I had to cut a lot of my subscriptions, especaily those who never blog. Sighs.. Sorry, I just had TOOO MUCH on the list =) and they are not even blogging at all. I think I ended up cutting maybe 30-40% off from the list. I know it doesnt make sense, but I feel its cleaner now. =)

Probably will have to clean up 30% more from the list since nothing's going on here except very few.

No...maybe I wont even be surprised if I ended up have to delete my OWN subscription, LOL!

Really, I cant blog forever unless I have all the time in the world. I saved some interesting topics in my Xanga Folder, and I never had chance to post it. All of those topics I d been saving have become a waste. =) I just got to use up it from now on. I ll post the topics up, so that I wont waste my time for saving it. =)

When every is posted up, maybe after the holidays, my TIME will be up. Dunno. See-see

    Here's one from the folder....

12 Foods You Don't Have to Buy Organic

organic, produce, food, GMO, genetically engineered, genetically modified, fruits, vegetables, butter, meat, pesticides, toxinsThe Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit organization that advocates for policies that protect global and individual health, produces the Shoppers' Guide to Pesticides in Produce. It is based on the results of nearly 43,000 pesticide tests.
Organic fruits and vegetables are by definition grown without the use of pesticides. But some find the expense of organic foods prohibitive.

Of the 43 different fruit and vegetable categories in the Guide to Pesticides, the following twelve foods had the lowest pesticide load when conventionally grown. Consequently, they are the safest conventionally grown crops to consume:
    • Broccoli
    • Eggplant
    • Cabbage
    • Banana
    • Kiwi
    • Asparagus
    • Sweet peas (frozen)
    • Mango
    • Pineapple
    • Sweet corn (frozen)
    • Avocado
    • Onion

    • Organic fruit and vegetables contain up to 40 percent more antioxidants
    • Organic produce had higher levels of beneficial minerals like iron and zinc
    • Milk from organic herds contained up to 90 percent more antioxidants
The researchers even went so far as to say that eating organic foods can help to increase the nutrient intake of people who don’t eat the recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
Food grown in healthier soil, with natural fertilizers and no chemicals, simply has to be more nutritious. It is common knowledge -- though knowledge that is greatly suppressed in the United States. But science is catching up, making suppression of this fact more difficult to sustain.

A 2003 study in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry, for example, found that
organic foods are better for fighting cancer.  And in 2005, scientists found that, compared to rats that ate conventional diets, organically fed rats experienced various health benefits, including:
    • Improved immune system status
    • Better sleeping habits
    • Less weight and were slimmer than rats fed other diets
    • Higher vitamin E content in their blood (for organically fed rats)
    What Should You Buy Organic?

Aside from the fact that organic food contains higher levels of vital nutrients, organic foods are also lower in other residues and compounds that are seriously detrimental to your health, such as herbicide-  and pesticide residues.

Additionally, the use of pesticides and herbicides in conventional farming practices contaminates groundwater, ruins the soil structure and promotes erosion. They’ve also been linked to the mysterious “colony collapse disorder” that threatens pollinating honeybees around the world. With that in mind, buying or growing as much organic food as possible is not only best for your health, but for the health of the entire planet.
That said, however, certain fruits and vegetables are subjected to far heavier pesticide use than others. And with food prices rising, many are looking for ways to buy the healthiest foods possible at the lowest cost. One such way would be to focus on purchasing certain organic items, while “settling” for others that are conventionally-grown.

This is where the EWG study of pesticide residue on produce really helps.
Of the 43 different fruit and vegetable categories tested, these 12 fruits and vegetables had the highest pesticide load, making them the most important to buy or grow organic:
    • Peaches
    • Apples
    • Sweet bell peppers
    • Celery
    • Nectarines
    • Strawberries
    • Cherries
    • Lettuce
    • Grapes (imported)
    • Pears
    • Spinach
    • Potatoes
Conventionally-grown strawberries, in particular, were found to be highly toxic due to a poisonous blend of pesticides in a previous 2007 EU study as well.
But be VERY careful as the list above is for fruits and vegetables.  Non-organic meats have far higher concentrations of pesticides than all of the fruits and vegetables.  And the highest concentration of pesticides is actually in non-organic butter.
So if you can only buy one organic food item it should be butter. Next priority would be meats and once those are addressed, you will want to focus on the fruit and vegetable list above.

Locally-grown organics are your absolute best bet, but bear in mind that many times buying locally-grown food is your best choice even if it’s grown conventionally, as the environmental impact of shipping organic produce across the globe can cancel out many its benefits. Organic farming standards are also questionable in many parts of the world.

These Conventionally-Grown Foods are Low in Pesticide Residue -- But Watch Out For GMO Varieties!

While you may have heard about the most common GMO food sources, such as corn, many people are clueless about JUST HOW MUCH of your produce is now available in GMO varieties. And, perhaps even worse, just how many deliberate GMO field trials are actually going on, all across the world.
A perfect example of the repercussions of this practice can be seen in Hawaii, where non-GMO papaya seed supplies are now so seriously contaminated by GMO seeds that at least 50 percent of organic seeds test positive for GMO!
That means you have a greater than 50/50 chance of buying GMO even when buying organic Hawaiian papaya…
Although the U.S. does not require GMOs to be labeled, you can still find out whether or not your produce is genetically engineered, by looking at its PLU code. For example:
    • A conventionally grown product carries a 4-digit PLU code (Ex: conventionally grown banana: 4011)
    • An organic product carries a 5-digit code, starting with the number 9: (Ex: organic banana: 94011)
    • A genetically engineered (GE or GMO) product has a 5-digit code, starting with the number 8: (Ex: GE banana: 84011)
Here are a few other fruits that are LOW in pesticide residue, and therefore good candidates to purchase as conventionally-grown, however, double-check to make sure you’re not buying a GMO variety.
    • Avocado – A new GMO avocado variety is scheduled to be introduced this year that is immune to “stress” and pests, per an Indian state report published in March, 2008.

    • Bananas – The first GMO banana with extra genes that increase its levels of pro-vitamin A and iron is being unleashed in Australian field trials this year. At Cornell University, researchers are also working to develop a banana that carries the hepatitis B vaccine.

    • Pineapple -- GMO pineapples, designed to produce greater levels of proteins, vitamins and sugars may already be on the market. Australia applied for  pineapple into environment all the way back in 2002. The pineapple is called “Smooth Cayenne,” which has delayed flowering and herbicide resistance. It also contains the tobacco acetolactate synthase gene (suRB) from Nicotiana tabacum.

    • Kiwi -- The transgenic variety of kiwi fruit is the Actinidia deliciosa from Italy.

Remember, if you can't afford to purchase all organic food, at least aim to buy produce that has a lower toxic load and is non-GMO. For tips on where to find organic foods, and how to stretch your dollar when shopping for organic, please read through my Related Articles below.

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ

I walked  down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth  - Europe died in Auschwitz .  We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims.

In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for hoping for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves.

Isolated incidents, Limited samplings, Ethnic Profiling!  I don’t think so.  Pause a moment and reflect back.

These events are actual events from history. They really happened!  Do you remember?

    1.   1968 Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by A Muslim male extremist between the ages of 17 and 40.

    2.   In 1972 at the Munich Olympics, athletes were kidnapped and massacred by:  Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.

    3. In 1979, the US embassy in Iran was taken over by: Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.

    4.  During the 1980's a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by:  Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and   40.

    5. In 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by: Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.

    6.  In 1985 the cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked and a 70 year old American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by: Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.

    7.  In 1985 TWA flight 847 was hijacked at Athens, and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by: Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.

    8.  In 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed by: Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.

    9. In 1993 the World Trade Center was bombed the first time by:  Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40
    .

    10. In 1998, the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by: Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.

    11. On 9/11/01, four airliners were hijacked;  two were used as missiles to take out the World Trade Centers and of the remaining two,  one crashed into the US Pentagon and the other was diverted and crashed by the passengers. Thousands of people were killed by: Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and  40.

    12. In 2002 the United  States fought a war in Afghanistan against: Muslim male extremists mostly between  the ages of 17 and 40.

    13. In 2002 reporter Daniel  Pearl was kidnapped and murdered by: Muslim male extremists mostly between  the ages of 17 and 40.

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling.  Do you?  So, to ensure that we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.

They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winners and former Governor Joe Foss, but let Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

Let's send this to as many  people as we can so that the Gloria Aldreds and other dunder-headed attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to thwart common sense, feel ashamed of themselves -- if they have any such sense.

As the writer of the award winning story "Forrest Gump" so aptly put it, "Stupid is as stupid does."

    'LEST WE FORGET'..

    General Eisenhower Warned Us

    image001 image002

It is a matter of history that when Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect:

'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some person will get up and say that this never happened'

This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it
    'offended'
the Muslim population which claims it never occurred.  This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the,

     6 million Jews,
    20 million Russians,
    10 million Christians
    and
    1,900 Catholic priests

    image003

who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beat, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way!

Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

    image004

This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people! Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center ,

    'NEVER HAPPENED'

    image005

because it offends some Muslim in the U.S.??????

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since Sept 11- the U.S. has been fighting against terrorism since THAT DAY. We tend to forget what was the original reason and switched it into something nothing. People are starting to complain, "they are going to a war FOR NO REASON."

Dont let the history repeat itself......
